The steps of the NHS Induction Process:
Note - Don't pay dues until after induction or when you actually become a member.
INDUCTION NIGHT will be September 28th, 2022 6pm Auditorium.

1) Read the 4 page NHS Induction Process handout (physical copy available outside room C14) or in the attachment.  (Can check main page of this website for overviews about what NHS is about too)

can Watch the 7 minute video  in Google Drive HERE (OLD or from Aug 2020 cycle...but useful still) that explains the induction process (all digital)
THE WALK THROUGH OF THE INDUCTION EVENT PROCESS (watch on Sept 14-21) is HERE
3) Select a SCHS teacher who would give you a positive recommendation for your CHARACTER.  Send that teacher an email (Teacher email list at https://www.sprucecreekhigh.com/faculty-list) using this template if desired:
Subject Line:  I request your recommendation to become an NHS member at SCHS!
Email body/msg: Hello.  I am interested in becoming a member of National Honor Society at Spruce Creek High School and I need your help to complete a recommendation form (that should take less than a minute to do) that demonstrates my CHARACTER (one of the four pillars vital to NHS) in the Google Link HERE !!!!!!!!!
It is required you submit this form ASAP or by the deadline of September 7, 2022.  Any questions please email Brent Rohol (brohol@volusia.k12.fl.us or call him on MS Teams at +79667).  Thanks so much!

4) Select A DIFFERENT SCHS teacher who would give you a positive recommendation for your LEADERSHIP.  Send that teacher an email (Teacher email list at https://www.sprucecreekhigh.com/faculty-list) using this template if desired:
Subject Line:  I request your recommendation to become an NHS member at SCHS!
Email body/msg: Hello.  I am interested in becoming a member of National Honor Society at Spruce Creek High School and I need your help to complete a recommendation form (that should take less than a minute to do) that demonstrates my LEADERSHIP (one of the four pillars vital to NHS) in the Google Link  HERE !!!!!!!!

5) Suggestion only: Complete your answers to the longer questions in the link in step 6 in a Google Doc / MS Word file before you start the actual Google Form.  Those questions can also be found on page 4 of the informational handout and would be the three 100 word short essays and the details of your service hours.  You may wish to save your work/answers in case something goes wrong with the Google Form submission.

6) Complete the actual Google Form required for you to be considered by SCHS NHS for membership.  The link is HERE!!!!!!!!
This will likely take an hour or so.  Any questions, please email or call Mr. Rohol with the info above.  The deadline to submit this form is September 7th by midnight.

7) Around September 5th, doublecheck with your two SCHS teachers that they have submitted the Google Form recommendation for you.  Your email could simply say:  Hello again!  Just checking that the submission of my recommendation form for NHS is all done (or will be done by Sept. 8).  [You can include the link they’d need from above … make sure to send the right link (character vs. leadership]

8) We will communicate with you by the email you submitted in your NHS Induction Questions about acceptance or rejection by September 13th at midnight so check your email then to see if you will be attending the NHS Meeting that will take place Sept 15.  The actual NHS Induction Event will take place September 29th.  If admitted, you will receive a congrats letter that will show you where to pay $20 dues, join the Remind group, follow us on Instagram/Facebook and how to get started on doing 1st quarter (Q1) service hour requirements by November 2nd.
